Looking for Partners

Schreiber Digital Media has always been pretty much a one man project. Lately things have been picking up, both in my freelance ventures as well as my 9-5 job at the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. After a recent increase in project requests, I've decided that it's time to change my business model.

For the next few weeks, I'll be meeting with local talent who would be interested in working on new and upcoming projects with me. I'm open to meeting people with any background in multi-media, but due to the nature of the projects I've been getting lately, I'm specifically looking for people with web development experience, because I can only consider individual candidates located near Pittsburgh, PA. I can't outsource to anyone who I can't meet in person before the project begins. If you feel like this might be you, stop by my contact form and let me know.

New Gig!

Some of you might already know that for the past few months I've been splitting my time between Schreiber Digital Media and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, a leading non-profit that's dedicated to improving quality of life in Western Pennsylvania. I'm happy to say that things have been working out well, and WPC has offered me a full time job as their resident web/multimedia guru.

I'll still be pretty active with SDM, and although I've temporarily slowed things down, believe me when I say that I've got big plans for the future, and I'll still be actively seeking new clients. If you have a project you'd be interested in telling me about, feel free to fill out the contact form to tell me about it.

Web Design

Roll over thumbnails for full-size example. Javascript must be enabled in your browser.

It's a fact that a bad design can cripple the best of ideas, and ideas on the web are no exception. Usability is effected by poor design decisions, and web surfers are notoriously impatient. The last thing you want is for a user to leave your site feeling frustrated, or worse, leave because of bad design before they even get a chance to take it in at all.

Most websites need to convey a large amount of information, and making that information stand out clearly on a page is one of the biggest concerns facing designers and their clients alike. But websites aren't passive means of communication; a good website is an interactive experience that's not only easy to navigate, but also has an intuitive nature that draws users in for the long run and brings them back for more.

Here are a few examples of some work I've done while on contract with an ad agency:

http://www.WaterLandLife.org
I am the full time content manager and webmaster for the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy's website.

http://www.essmc.com/
I revised the homepage, created the blue ESSMC button and the first page graphics, as well as basic HTML editing.

http://www.laxburgh.com/
I've done HTML editing and updates for this site as well.

http://www.cwdesignllc.com/servlet/StoreFront
I edited product photos, and set up part of the eCommerce section for this site.

http://georgecontedesign.com/
I edited most of the photos you see on this site to fit the theme, and helped create and edit the XML that calls the photos for the portfolio section.

Vigilant America Logo
This client came to me with the idea for this logo. I took his ideas and illustrated and expanded upon them, creating a logo and basic identity.
